Default Counter-Strike Mods

One question...

If I d/l a mod for cs such as the realism mod, etc.. or new weapon models.. does that mean i can't play on the net?

Because cheats used to modify models so their enemy looks like an APC, etc... so I thought most servers disallowed changing of models.

Just curious, because I don't want to go and reconfigure my game and then find out that I have to reinstall again.

There are restrictions on the P_xxx.mdl files. These are the weapon models that you see in other players hands. They put these restrictions in place after people made extra long models so they'd stick through walls/doors etc. There are a lot of replacement models floating around that haven't been updated to comply with the restrictions yet. Doesn't mean that those models were for cheating just that they didn't fall within the dimensions specified. A reputable pack like the realism pack will/should pass the checks on model size.
