best way to find cheep booze ladies n gents is... Boozle.com.au type in what you drink and your area code and it will tell you where to go to save a buck. and it even suggests specials based on your search history (what you like)

Was at dans on the weekend and some of the beer prices were really good, and down a lot from regular prices.

If you are an ING Direct customer with an Orange account you can currently get $50 straight off wines (minimum purchase $120) at Cellarmasters.

^^ Perhaps unpublished, I went into DM on the weekend to check out the Chivas 12 yo at $36.70; they had JW Black at $35.95 - less than a dollar difference but it swayed my decision anyhow...

Both blends, both 12 years old - both were going to be drunk mixed anyways so it's no big deal which one it was.

Speaking of JW, I've seen they've released two new lines recently. Double-Black (priced between Black and Green), and XR (priced between Gold and Blue). Anyone tried either of these?

The XR 21 is individually numbered bottles. Duty free it's around $US100-110 equivalent; and I'm not travelling soon so the $149 retail pricetag put me off somewhat.

I tried the double black, and as a fan of the black I don't think it's worth the price difference. It's not 'more of what's good in the black' as the marketing claims, it's just stronger smoke and less of the subtleness of other flavours that is present in the black.
