Default WoW install problem

Hello all, tried to install my original wow the other night and one of the disks were buggered. So when i was out yesterday i saw vanilla for $10 and decided to grab it, to replace my original one.

Installed it, then when i go to install my BC one it only comes up with the "play burning crusade" button, no install button.
While this was happening it downloaded the 4.x.x patch (4.7GB one) once that installed. the BC disks were asking that wow needs to be installed before this one can.

Anyone know whats going on? I can put the WOTLK dvd in and it's got the "install" button there but BC doesn't.

Also can i upgrade this new account with my previous BC and WOTLK versions which are tied to my other account or do i have to get new ones of them?

If it's patched up to 4.0.3a you should be able to just play. The client is the same, but it relies on expansion keys being attached to your account to play expansion content.

You will not be able to add your previous BC and WotLK keys to your new account, they are single use only.

If things are breaking during the install process, you can download the full client from battle.net.

Best course of action is to bin it all, download the full client from battle.net as per Rhion's suggestion, and reinstall.

You don't need your CDs for install as the data is universally generic across the board.
