When you say its cheap and plasticy, that means the back of the phone which is one piece of thin plastic. To be honest, once its in a case, who the hell cares?
![]() I have a galaxy S running Froyo and it doesn't matter that it feels like when you're holding it. What it does and how it does it is what you buy a phone for. |

did anyone not notice the ambitious battery stats ?
i would be inclined to take this battery test again when gingerbread port on the galaxy s is complete 512mb ram and hummingbird proc seems a bit overdue especially with the millions of galaxy s units already out there... am more interested to see if 2.3 is tablet ready

hmm... I know I'm not the only one a bit disappointed by the specs... not to mention the lack to quadband UMTS and denial of Australia's existence

If the S had offered their Orion dual core CPU then it would have been a yes.. :P I'm very happy with my N1 on CM61 at the moment, and don't see any reason to upgrade to the S. It should be noted that the S does have a much faster GPU, but there's hardly anything taking advantage of that now. Also the NFC stuff will be interesting for developers.

Hurry up with a quadband UMTS phone already, both Apple and Nokia has it and which Android is sorely lacking. Franking I will be happy with a Motorola Defy with quadband UMTS and a good sunlight readable screen. |

It is simply more of the Samsung Galaxy S which is still a great phone but, i am waiting for newer tech from the new year. Such as Dual Core phones with high resolution screens.

I've heard rumours that this isn't dual-core, and this doesn't have a microSD card slot. This the case? I might just grab a Tegra 2 phone instead...

If this is completely unlocked (bootloader and everything, no signed kernels or ROM or whatever it is on the Galaxy) then that is your reason to get it over a Galaxy S (and most other android phones) right there.
Gingerbread on the day or release instead of waiting months or years for an official one? Yes please. Sorting of the ridiculous inbuilt memory issues on the Galaxy would be a must too. |

now is probably a good time for me to retract my last comment and say that actually, I'm not so sure I'll upgrade to this, for one reason...
...no FM Radio. Thanks to Fresh FM here in Adelaide, this is a feature I cannot do without on a smartphone, and it is offensive that they removed it from the nexus S when it is on the galaxy S... You can bet your bottom dollar that T-Mobile had a part to play in removing FM radio from the nexus S...and unlike the nexus one, which had the hardware but no drivers/software (and was easily rectified by devs), I would put money on the Nexus S being more like the Captivate/Vibrant and actually missing the FM Radio hardware altogether. Although i would be happy to be proven wrong.

hopefully theres some goodies google will hide it inside this new iteration of the galaxy? (it does look slightly fatter)
i tried the unlocked fm radio on the n1 with my new sennheisers and it works great! also possibly has no noise cancellation and led light alert features, something which has grown to be essential to me on my n1 with cm 6.1

![]() I'm currently working at Best Buy, but the discount on this phone probably isn't anything to get excited about.
