And you don't need a KVM, or a UPS, or an iLO card to do any of it.

If I am desperate I give it a vuln scan and then bust out metasploit and try exploit to a reverse shell or even crash it into a reboot

*not recommended on critical production servers

That's pretty much what it us. And of course a convenient excuse to not analyse and quantify the real risks - much easier to just say no.
