(A) (H)
Alliance or Horde
Realm
Barth or Frost

what is the culture like?
Skill level?
Lag?

I heard Barth for horde and FM for ally is the way to go.
Although unless you wanna wait in 1500-2000 queues every night you might wait for a little while.

Do you still have to wait in the ques if you have a higher level character?

Would it be worth going on a lower population Oceanic PVP Realm?

Lol yes you still have to wait.
What server you on atm?

AFAIK barth and FM are locked anyway. Most likely easiest to just level on the server you are on then transfer when things calm down.

Horde easily outnumber Alliance on FM. And yeah, average queue time atm on FM is approx 2hrs+ depending on the time of day. There are queues of about 500-700 from at least 3:30pm weekdays from what I have seen/experienced.

I started a new character on Frostmourne 2 nights ago. The queue last night was 1500 people, but I was in after 10 minutes of waiting.

Is that wait time bad in comparison or are you waiting a lot longer?

That seems about normal since cata has hit.

The queue disapears a few months into an expansion. Last queue before cata that I personally saw was like a year ago.

Just logged in early, don't logout. Profit.

a 1500 queue on barth can take anywhere from 30min to an hour.

but it doesnt matter since both FM and barth are locked to new accounts anyway so you wont be able to xfer on

I ended up doing a transfer on to Deathmaul, it's fairly low population server but it seems ok. Might transfrer onto one of the bigger servers later but at the moment pretty happy.

Jeez a lot has change in WOW since I last played in 2006, it's cool how you can get on the dungeon wait lists!

Can you do the same for Raids?

Hit up Dreadmaul Oceanic PvP server. No waiting times and Horde ruled.

There is a new lfg tool for raids, but it is server only, not battlegroup. it isn't as nice and I find on my realm it doesn't get used.

I've done end-game raiding on both realms and choosing (H) or (A) depends on what you wish to do on the server.
If you're looking to play with the best of the best then rolling horde or alliance depends on which faction the guild plays, but if you're just after high-end raiding then you should go:

Barthilas - (A)
Frostmourne - (H)

Frostmourne has a better high-end raiding player base on Horde, even though they have Tsunami, most of the better guilds are on Horde.

Barthilas was a different story a few months ago, it's main player base was with Horde - Back in the day with Noctis Erus, Blue Label, Cross etc
Since then, Elementium has come to Barthilas from Blackrock, so I'd recommend Alliance.

Skill level? Wouldn't know since I havnt played on either realm since WOTLK

Lag? Minimal, you won't find end-game top tier guilds on servers that lag - I'm on Blackrock at the moment which would be most prone to "LAG" with such a high player base, yet Adept have done remarkably well so far.

I moved my main from Barthilas to Proudmoore two years ago and I'm looking to move it back after I get to 85. Will I be able to do a paid transfer at this time? I still have a bunch of alts (mostly level one bank alts) on Barthilas that have been there for 2 years.
