I'm sure some of you guys would have a subscription to this mag, I have a quick question about the Collection Volume 1-4 "Bookazines".
Do these have any extra content compared to the regular issues or do they just hand pick a number of articles across a number of regular issues and put them all together into the Collection "Bookazines"? Thanks guys

Anyone know if you can get Retro gamer in Aus? Or do you have to do it through a UK subscription that costs a fortune in postage?

There are a handful of articles from outside of RetroGamer. Some are special for the bookazine, and some are from sister publications like Game Informer and others.
It's about 80% Retro Gamer stuff, and 20% outside stuff. Still worth the purchase if you're a retro fan (I always grab them when I see them).

Might have to look at a few of the local newsagency's, see who carries it
Did you subscribe directly with their website?

Does the subscription include bookazines or are they separate?

Separate,
Though would be nice if they where included I have the entire set of Retrogamer (including the CD's from the early issues) I must start back at issue 1 and re-read these all over again

For instance, there's a little too much emphasis on the Spectrum for my liking and not enough on things like the Apple II. I'm also a big adventure game fan and they seldom dedicate pages to those

They occasionally do US hardware, but not that often. Although with that said, they are picking up a much larger international audience these days, and there have been many questions on their forums, in their reader mailbag and on Darren's YouTube channel to cover US and other hardware. They've responded say that 2011 will see more diversity. So I guess we'll see.

I just got my subscription setup, it was roughly $130AU for 13 issues so pretty good value I thought. Also ordered the Load 1 and 2 DVD's and a couple of issues that were missing from a partial collection I just bought, also ordered a sprite mug as well.
![]() I would love for them to print some more copies of the bookazines and older issues, would save trying to chase them up on ebay, etc. Hard copies are always nice but the DVD's will have to do for now for those earlier issues. Thanks for the extra info as well elvis, might have to hunt down the bookazines at some stage as well.

Some of the bookazines can be bought still from the website. Some of the early ones are included in the "Load" DVDs (I got Load 1 and 2 for the father's day 12 months after she got the subscription - best family EVAR!).
