wasnt worth it after all this fuss, but at least the price hasnt increased as some might have predicted.

who actually saved any cash buying overseas anyway ???
I was just worried that stock would plummet straight after release, which is why people such as myself were curious about overseas options.

The price inflation wasnt that bad in Aus like predicted either, so I ended up buying Australian and keeping my budget in order. Chances are buyers from OCUK or similar might make a small saving but in the end, its all roughly the same cost for the same product.

Now I just need the lower range GTX600 series and Ill be in heaven

the way i look at it, my BTT cpu was probably synnex stock
339ex + 33.9gst = 372.9
means when i picked mine up for 377, they made $4.10, so it was about as cheap as it was gonna get.

plus i have it today and not tomorrow/next week.

I would have saved about 20-30 bucks if I doubley triple confirmed my details with OCUK, but I don't want them having any of those details on file. So I can just let my order be cancelled instead. That and I was waiting for when stock did become available that it'd be over inflated prices.

It just so happened that OZ stock has been confirmed today and I'd rather have my build done over the weekend ready for near future gaming than wait another week or so (namely Diablo III). I'm happy to pay that little extra now to a local shop than having an overseas company store personal / sensitive details.

A bunch of us are going to have to come back and compete with all of our 3770K's to see what OC results are happening with these first batches and revisions.

People say they can run 4.7GHz @ 1.2v which is promising for my climb to 5GHz in a daily watercooled rig. Shit, with a quad-rad all to itself (until GPU is released) I could probably go to like 5.5GHz or even 6 for a benching run!

P.s: If 1155 IVB's can achieve that overclock, then what the hell are people bitching about this being a supremely hot core compared to SB CPU's? I would say that IVB's get hotter in the extended voltage ranges for overclocking (1.3-1.5) compared to SB maybe? But other than that, IVB is clearly an improvement on SB even if it isnt by that much (or however people choose to see it.)

Im really in a pickle with IB vs SB, was planning to get a 2600k... Still very wary about 3770k atm with heat/oc'ing; not enough results for me to decide sadly as most reviews are ES chips.

sorry my post was referring to those who ordered/bought a 3770k chip overseas and now stores have started stocking them here today, those who bought in UK wiil have to now wait for arrival, so in the end, after the panic of a may 11 release date in OZ, turns out it was all for nothing, and not a lot of cash save overall anyway.

Bit of a noob question guys, I've been out of the game too long to pretend to know what I'm doing now lol.

I'm getting an i5-2500 cpu, and have ordered an ASUS P8z77-v lx board. Will this board support the new ivy bridge cpu's as well as the sandy's?

Cheers
Jim
