have a look on the forums to see if there is anything in the 775 area. Most of it's going for cheap

I'm buying Sandy for my work PC, but keeping my S775 at home until Ivy comes out.

with every day that BD is delayed im thinking more and more about IB lol. Still im pretty sure that IB will be faster since its the next step. My Phenom 2 940 is holding out nicly but as stated before, skyrim, bf3, and the constant upgrade itch is ticking away lol

While I would like to hold out for IB, it's not realistic since I am currently on a QX9650 with GTX570. Slipping to late Q1 2012 is too long for me.

Wanted to SLI for BF3/Skyrim however my current board will revert to PCIE1 4x slots I believe (P35) which surely would hamstring the two severly. In essence, its wait to see if Bulldozer disappoints, then grab SB and hope prices are down in a few months so I can save another $100

Reading this thread has made me think twice about upgrading.

I've got a Q9550@3.8Ghz, and was going to upgrade it in July, but don't know if its worth it.

If Ivy is coming it might be worth the wait..

But I don't know

Its hard to justify an upgrade when your current machine does and play's everything.
I will admit video encoding is slower on my current machine, but the old Q9550 has done me proud, and I would love for my next machine to last as long as it has (4 Years).

Ah I don't know, its also nice to have new shit too, but as this will be my 1 and only upgrade for a while its a hard decision.

I guess I'll watch this space.

Still clunking away on an old Q6600 here (OC to 3.2ghz) Still seems to handle everything I do decently well though.

Ivy bridge seems to be my next likely upgrade.

Yup my faithful q6600 3.2g is still chugging along.

HUMMER did you notice a big jump in performance with your upgrade?

With good games coming end of year will be hard to decide but I've got my heart set on ivy...might grab a gtx580 but then again next gen is supposed to arrive end of year too

Hmmm, Just wondering if the old Q9550 will last out till July next year.
A least then we'll know how the future tech will perform.

havent been able to test it as i had to steal the video card from this q6600 set up to see if its working. it also needs drives. it does not have any yet.

will get around to that once i figure out what im going to do with my raid setup in this current machine.

I'm also sitting very happily on my 4 year old q6600@3ghz rig. My only concern is battlefield 3 when it comes out in October, which I'm sure will struggle.

Otherwise like some of you have mentioned, it's hard to justify the upgrade.
