The Good Guys have preorders for $347 = Console + Case + Game of your choice. If that really means any game that could be a pretty sweet deal, I think most stores are limited to the same 3 Ubisoft titles.

was trying to play streetfighter 4 yesterday, the "3d" ness is very much just like a parallax background...it works, but doesnt really have depth, more like characters just in front of a seperated background.

the d-pad was a bit difficult to get moves out, but im sure it would just take some getting used to.

Had a play, it feels like Nintendo added a novelty factor. It was cool for about 2 minutes then it was just felt like a regular DS.

Not that it applies to us but US 3DS will get netflicks later in the year and 10,000 free AT&T hot spots around the USA.

Also a few screenies are out for the Super Mario 3DS game. Doesn't seem to be a port of anything, just a new game of Mario 64 style.

I never bought chaos theory back in the day so I'll probably get it for 3DS.

Wonder how many people with an older DS will be the same. Go buy one all hyped only to forget they havent touched their old one in years, to discover that it will be a nice $300 shelf warmer.

Some games look good, I might wait though and pick one up later in the year when there's a wide selection of games to choose from

Played a little bit of 3DS tonight.

Layton looked good, different take on the formula.

Ridge Racer handled like it always has, looked smooth, though nothing special.

Street Fighter looks great, plays solid.

Motion Sickness was the best part of it all, sadly only took a couple minutes to kick in

I had a thought recently, how it has motion sensors but motion controls and having to keep your head in a sweet spot don't really go together do they? Probably just as well the 3D effects aren't a requirement for devs.

Yea, at the moment I'll be keeping my 2 ds lites. Until they make pokemon only on 3ds or make something awesome like free nes/snes/n64games available for the 3ds only, I'll stick with what I have I think.

If it wasn't for that dick smith deal I'd probably be sticking with my DS Lite until more games come out.

Not really, some people on Ecogamer have listed trade deals. Game were offering $80 from memory and some EB stores were matching them.

Surprisingly, the Nintendo 3DS loads games considerably more slowly than the Nintendo DS Lite. On average, the Nintendo 3DS took 35 percent longer than the Nintendo DS Lite to get to the in-game menu. Performance didn't seem to suffer once we started to play the games, though. Frame rates seemed normal across all the games we played.
With this and the poor launch lineup, I'll be holding off until some solid 3ds titles are released. My dslite is still going strong 4 years and there isn't a good replacement for it yet.

Tried one at top gear live over the weekend. I wasn't overly impressed by the 3d effect, but the stupid cable attached to the desk meant I couldn't stand with my face that close to it.

No real games, just the built in ones.

Apart from breaking the 2 factory styluses on my original DS, it's still rock solid (hinge is a little bit flaky, but still working). Don't need a new ds just for pokemon. Or even a new stylus (chupachup sticks work a treat )
