Default another way to secure erase a G1 X25-M?

Hi,

I like to secure erase my G1 every 6 - 12 months. To secure erase a G1, you have to find HDDErase 3.0 and make a bootable cd. i also had to turn on IDE legacy, and plug the G1 in to the first sata port only.

Is there another way to do secure erase these days? or has it not improved???

While i don't have an alternative product, why do you secure erase it so often? If i'm not mistaken Intel did enable TRIM support on these drives so garbage collection should be taken care of.

ccleaner has a Nuanced drive wiper now, might be what you are looking for.

I don't think Intel released anything for G1s. Let me know if you find one though. I think they just focussed on the G2 firmware.

if the ready to write flag is FF for intel, then you can just use as cleaner ff. takes 5-10 minutes, back to top health. no formatting, imaging or anything.

i run it once every 4-6 weeks here.
