Hi, would the modem driver (made for kernel version 2.4.10) work if i upgrade my kernel to version 2.4.19? The 2.4.10 seems to be the latest driver.
Oh, just a quick quick question, does the 2.4.19 have support for audigy card? I know i can get the drivers from sourceforge.net. Thanks allot

Can you get the source for the driver? If so, you can compile it after you upgrade your kernel. Cheers, Martin. |

![]() Does this mean that if other drivers arent compatible with a certain kernel version, recompiling will fix the problem?

If CONFIG_MODVERSIONS=y in your kernel then you can sometimes use old modules, I've never had much luck trying though and firmly believe that it's better to rebuild your third party modules against a new kernel.
