now just think, you gained 1000 points in 2 hours? what can you do with a whole easter weekend to tinker with that setup

I'd say go for 5ghz on cpu, what oc do you have on gtx680?

we almost have identical rigs, i got similar score with 4.6Ghz. we got same ram and all. I tried 5Ghz and made no difference for some reason.

You'll find that bertie, extra cpu mhz dont really get you much at this level, unless you can get it to 6ghz :P hahah, a 3930k nets you about another 400-500 points at same mhz as the 2600-2700k's, then again a mix of a bit of extra cpu mhz, a bit of extra ram speed and a bit of extra gpu oc will get you over then line i think

this is the difference the change from 2700k/z68 to 3930k/X79 made for me, although in both formats i had underclocked ram, but same cpu speed etc over both platforms, with dual gtx 680's stock clocks

Then new ram coupled with the 3930k and slight oc on gtx 680's gave me this increase

Nice one Joe, I knew that 3820 wouldn't last long.... When you sell the 3930 to buy a 3960 can you let me know ???

Also I think you will find your clocks are turbo 1058+160 when benching
