Default SSD noob needs help

Hey all, just bought myself a vertex 2 120GB, installed all fine and it gets good speeds on ATTO bench, around 250mb read and write, and HDtune reads a 0.2ms seek time. All this sounds pretty good to me, although this thing seems really slow in windows, boot up takes about the same as my old raptor, and there seem to be a bit of lag or hesitation when opening folers and programs also. Looked around on the web but cant find anything on this sort of issue, or how to fix it. By the way, i have windows 7 ult 64bit with a bios mod, not sure if this is affecting it, ANY HELP APPRECIATED!!

Obvious question, you're running in AHCI mode?

Yes it is in ACHI mode, and mobo is DFI lanparty 790GX M3H5, as i said i also did a bios mod for windows activation, i have been mucking around with it for a while and looking into things online, it just seems to be mainly in windows that its a bit slow, opening folders and what not, in sata port 0 too,

Thanks for your feedback
