Question D5 capability

Hi fella's, I had asked B4, though just want to check.

Using a D5 (variable speed) in an XSPC Res, blocks are a Swiftech Apogee GTX and a Koolance VID579, two Thermochill PA120.3's.

I would like to mount the pump/res at the top of the case which will be 50cm above the lowest Rad. This may give you an idea. Is the single pump sufficient to draw at that height?
In the future if I was to add chipset or 2nd GPU water bolck would a second pump be required?

I would prefer not to unnecessarily strain/wear the pump prematurely, but if the single pump is enough - GREAT

The pump will be more than fine for your application.

A word of warning, Thermochill rads are very nice but they are pretty bad in the way of flushing all the flux out of which is the one of the reasons i don't buy them...just do a google search and see for yourself what a bitch they are to flush, however if you have lots of time and patience it should not be a problem and in the end you'll have two sweet rads once you get all that shit out

Thumbs up

Thanks bullet, both these rads have seen 2 years of use and flushing.
Originally I used a great deal of hot water and since then they've had diluted vinegar & more recently dish washing detergent - so their "squeaky clean"

I've had mine around the same time.... They take a radiculous amount of flushing to even get remotely clean! I'm still getting flux in mine 2 years on, which has also stained my res etc.. Really shit for that, but otherwise i don't reckon you can get a better rad for build quality and performance.

Looks like a good build BTW, looking forward to more pics.

Regards, Rob

Honestly man I haven't seen anything untoward in mine, I had a switech Res that would have collected anything, used 3 different types of coolant (with demoralized flushes between, had the coolant temp down to 2 degree's in winter and warm in summer, and pulled the CPU block the other day in preparation for new build and found 1 microscopic particle on one pin in the cpu block otherwise clean as the day I bought it - was so chuffed.

I was told to run a good deal of hot water through to start with so that's what I did..?

Anyway I am currently awaiting the mobo and figuring out the loop....
