Default Noob windows question

Hi all,

I have Vista 64x with alot of stuff on there

If I get windows 7 is there anyway to just 'upgrade' Vista whilst keeping everything on there such as drivers, files, settings etc etc ?

When you upgrade, there should be a option that lets you migrate your documents and settings etc to Windows 7. I've never done an upgrade (Clean installs only) but to be safe, save a backup, and copy your data to a safe place before you start perhaps?

upgrade is a built in option and sometimes even works!

but always better to backup and do a clean install
you defeat the purpose of upgrading otherwise.

like building a new house without tearing down the old one
