Are the 5k3000 raid friendly? Do they suffer from same issues as other "green" drives?

Quote:
The Hitachi 5K3000 appears to have similar sequential performance compared to the Samsung F4, but the 5K3000 has the clear advantage in 4KB random reads/writes.

hardocp would be the best place to check for that as they are a dedicated thread on them, first look though they shouldn't have any issues...

The 5k3000 have similar performance to the 7k2000 which is pretty darn good considering the price.

Anybody seen the 5k3000 3TB for sale anywhere in Australia? Or any 5K3000 for that matter? I see a few stores with the 7K3000's but no returns on a staticice search for 5K3000.
Any idea when they might hit Australian shores?

Cool

I was able to buy 2 of these http://www.hitachigst.com/internal-d...eskstar-7k2000 from http://ijk.com.au/branch/ijk/product...ucts_id=122358

Code:
Model(s) HDS722020ALA330
Interface SATA 3Gb/s
Capacity (GB) 2 TB
Sector size (variable, Bytes/sector) 512
Max areal density (Gbits/sq. in.) 285
Performance
Data buffer (MB) 32
Rotational Speed (RPM) 7200
Media transfer rate (Mbits/sec, max) 1621
Interface transfer rate (MB/sec, max) 300
$130 each and seemed to have plenty in stock

MSY was selling them for $129 and I wasn't able to buy them on Sunday afternoon.
