Yeah I was actually reading about this the other day about how if it doesn't make the sound it's considered some surveillance tech or something random!
I totally recall my iphone not making the click when on silent though .

Spent the last day using the current f1 rom, I'm really impressed by its implimentation and am stupified at Samsung's decision not to use this nexus style interface for their stock S2 roms after their release of the nexus.

Hi guys,
I've just inherited a S2 from a friend (who now owns a note). I was going to buy a Nexus, but I'm really happy with this S2. I'm currently running the latest version of a rom called Rootbox, which seems to be great for both performance and battery life. One question though- my S2 works perfectly but it has a little bit of cosmetic damage from where it has been dropped. The damage is around the edges of the phone (mainly on the corners). Not that it matters, but I'd love to 'fix' it so I have an as new phone. If you search on ebay for 'galaxy S2 housing' there are heaps of options for fairly cheap, but I'm just not sure which to get. Has anyone repaired an S2 with this kind of damage? Would something like this be what I'm after? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Original-...#ht_3485wt_996 Thanks

It would, but without having taken one apart before it is going to be a slow fiddly pain in the arse process to transplant everything. I've done it enough myself.
More power to you if you want to do it, but if your that level of perfection, perhaps you should get someone to do the transplant for you. Just saying.

Just a follow up on using the F1 rom, as people have mentioned battery life has improved but I'm staggered as to how much. Light usage on the stock samsung ICS rom used to get me around 18 hours, F1 has doubled it.

My mate has been running REMIX blah blah
never much of a fan of the rom, (i was a while back) but now he wants to go back to stock. He bought the phone from crazy johns but he can't seem to remeber which rom it was. Aussie ICS stock or bloatware-ed ICS vodafone? The phone says the model number is GT-I9100. |

im beginning to hate my phone right now, i did a factory reset and put it back to all my previous settings, and now its not working properly. some people dont get my texts, my friends dont see my posts in whatsapp messages. im considering just going to buy an s3, but thats got ICS on it as well which has been the main cause of my issues (i had no problems on gingerbread). battery life seems to be a bit better now though.

, there's a fix to almost everything. ICS isnt the problem. Once you flashed on the stock ICS rom using odin call up your service provider and ask for an installation message that contains the configurations for the APNs. If your considering the S3 too, i would say its great phone, and worthy of its price tag. And its ICS OS is very smooth. But since it should almost definitely be getting Jelly Bean, its something to consider. Still its not confirmed so take the reports with pinch of salt. Also since you factory reset your phone and continued to use the same rom it deleted a lot of settings and adjustments you and your apps had made thus it being a little buggy. I say start fresh with a nice new unlocked aussie ICS rom.

I deleted all my apps and then reinstalled the ones I really want, and battery life is so much better. Used 25% today, whereas I would've gone through at least 50% by now before I wiped my phone. No glitches atm either which is promising.
