Hi Guys, bout a year ago i bought a d-link 1 bay NAS (can't remember model nbr) and paired it with a wd 1TB green drive. mapped it as a network drive and started transferring files all good
what i have noticed is that : transferring files TO the nas has slowed down dramatically (sometimes as low as 1mb/sec) over time (it used to be a consistent 8-10mb/sec) Transferring files from the nas is always around 20mb/sec, no performance drops. using win 7 64 bit ultimate any explanations for this? i'm thinking maybe the sata performance of the drive thats sending the files is slowing down?

array may be degraded/dodgey disk or super duper fragmented.

That's what did it, fixed repaired the NAS ntfs volumes and now speeds back up to 8.5mb/sec
