In my day we just used SoftICE. Of course, that was much much later

Yesterday I re-aquired my Amiga collection (well most of it, some is still some to come like my big box Shadow of The Beast).

Apologies for the terrible photos but I was having trouble getting a couple of good shots.

I did the math and most of this stuff is now 20+ years old!!

I was afraid they'd been chucked, but thankfully my mother is a hoarder so these were kind of "buried" in a big cardboard box - I asked for them back some time ago and she said if she found them, and blow me down here they are

All complete with manuals and code wheels - MI2 even had my save disk in it Happy memories.

So i was going thru my stuff today and I remember I went and picked up a bunch of old stuff from this guy a while ago, out of the stuff that stood out was a Pentium 2 266MHz cartridge CPU, a TNT2 and Voodoo 2 gfx cards. I'd like to build a retro system but I dunno if I can be bothered with all my other stuff going on. Amongst the crap was Star Wars X-wing vs Tie Fighter, Jedi Knight 2 Jedi Outcast and Star Trek Elite Force, not sure as yet if these will run on this system but i'd love to check em out. What you guys reckon I should do?

This was a radical device. I bought it in 1985, my first ever overseas mail order. It was the first "freeze" cartridge for the C64.
awesome device.. had one when I had my C64 (though my first overseas purchase was a tape copy of Paradroid.. I was so interested in the "Diary" series in the ZZap!64 magazine I pre-ordered it). It helped me learn 6502 assembly, but I ended up selling it to a mate and buying an Action Reply (MK IV?) cartridge. as it had an integrated assembler, which was invaluable for debugging and writing code (I got into cracking and training through that cartridge).

I gave away most of my C64 stuff when I moved to Melbourne and had offered to buy it from the guy I gave it to, but literally his house burned down and lost everything

Nice score! Have a look at this site for some essential mods:
http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/category/nintendo/snes/

I've done the 50/60hz and lockout disable switches on mine, tightened up the cart slot contacts and widened the slot with a file. I can play any game I've tried so far including Super Mario RPG, Final Fantasy 2/3 etc...

Also you should solder in a new battery to your game carts before you start playing. Nothing worse than being halfway through a game and have your saves disappear
