Its a shame we couldnt use the La Sarthe 2005 version with weather and night cycles. You cant cut in the places we were cutting, as the painted tarmac is gravel traps in that one. Ahh well.

Dont short change yourself mate! Was a great drive... very quick and consistent. Just another example of how practice really pays off :-) Congratz!

I agree with CJ 100%. You drove a good consistant race and made less errors than others in the race. Also there is nothing to say I wouldn't have binned it somehow even if I didn't get disconnected. You deserved the win.

i've done a fair bit of driving/racing in rFactor historic cars, they have significantly less grip (they use a ply tyre model iirc) than the cars we've been driving in this series, and you cant just punch the throttle and power out (not without some sort of associated slide anyway ), they require a much more deft touch and gentle throttle application.
imho, that's the way they were back then, big power, low grip, big slides, big fun.

i remember reading an article/interview with Sir Stirling Moss, he said that when driving the 300SLR he didnt so much drive the car, as set the angle and then work the throttle to get the car around the corners... always being ready to catch it when it got too far out.
DRIFT ON YOU CRAZY BASTARD!
I know what youre talking about but this wasnt like that at all - if you have the car, try it. On hard tyres It just constantly swaps between terminal understeer and snap oversteer, under braking particularly its very unstable. It wouldnt be my first choice even with softs on, and wouldnt touch it with a bargepole with hards....

The XJ13 is far more like you describe in that you can slide a bit with it, its reasonably forgiving

while i only did the last 2 races with you guys i have to say i enjoyed them, thank you to those that organized them. in only doing the last 2 races my only aim was to get a few points if i could, and see what all this talk was about....had been reading this thread for a little while.
last night seeing jesse so far back i thought there was no way for a good place, but near the end i saw jesse up near the front. that impressed me lol, think it was about lap 5 that id seen the yellow car behind me way back in the field.

Just thinking to the Series after the historics, could we run JGTC/Super GT again, but this time limit by PP (which we didnt have the ability to do at the start of this series)

This could potentially open up the field to a shitload of different cars, even the less powerful GT300 cars could be modded up to a given PP to compete

And to keep it interesting, no more than two people may have the same car

Nice list and awsome idea, but I think 30% of the field will be stealth!
Bring on season 2!

Bollocks, theres enough differnet bloody Nissans in that list that there is no reason why there needs to be any more than 1 or 2 stealths

Haha, I only chose the GTR because it was a "safe" option

I kinda like Sciflyer's idea, but it would mean dropping the pp of the cars from this year as far as i can tell, the GT300 wont reach 600pp, which was where my NSX was at for most of the year. Then to give parity, youd need to restrict the GT500 cars more, which isnt a good idea imo.

EDIT: what you could have is a GT300 and GT500 championship and those who didnt compete last season run GT300. You can then have a promotion/ relegation system.

EDIT2: Maybe different cars shouldnt be used and have both GT500. Perhaps the top tier boys could run in the 2nd tier race if they wanted to boost the numbers if needed, but cannot receive points?

I think I may have found my new drive for next season. First I was thinking Stealth NSX but it looks kile Rusty wants to use it. Then I was thinking Supra. Anyway while I was using some of my car tickets I received this.

Only problem is that it's 1 - 2 seconds a lap slower than my GTR from what I can tell at the moment. Will know more when PSN comes back up and I can test on line.
