The cheapest 580s are not $500 they are below $500. 7970 launch was a fail price wise.

Yeah but they are all 1.5GB versions, I'm guessing most of the reviews are vs 3GB.

3GB 580 and 7970 are the same price on Newegg and will end up similar once stock improves.

Better single card performance, 3 monitors from one card and a lot of room to improve with drivers...pretty easy choice.

Not really AMDs fault. Aussies are just getting ripped off for a few weeks.

The cards are meant to be $550RRP, actually AMD has dropped the price a little but its not AMD that is screwing people.

$550 for the fastest card with 3GB's of vram is really pretty good.

Theres no law that says you have to buy in the first week, most of us still have good cards from last gen that will last a few more weeks until the prices settle.

If there is any one waiting for Nvidia you won't be dissapointed as they will have a faster card line up then AMD this year.

The short story is that Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) will win this round on just about every metric, some more than others. Look for late March or early April availability,
So in other words, it will end up about even, probably a little in the green teams favour and look for availability around June ???

You don't seem to realise the significance of who is saying this

Charlie normally only reports pro-AMD news, so for him to say this about nvidia is very very unusual.

I kinda think Charlie is trolling. He's too pro AMD for me to think this isn't the case.
