Default Fisher Paykel 603 Washing Machine error

Hello all knowing overclockers,

Have a FP Smart Drive 603 washing machine circa 1997.

Works great apart from the fact the rinse cycle keeps repeating over and over, have to manually advance to the spin cycle to finish a wash.

Anyone have any ideas ? In the USA FP provides a diagnostics booklet, but this one has nothing supplied. I can get to the diagnostic mode, but then not sure how to proceed.

Any help is appreciated.

Default solved

sorted it out, corroded contacts on the out of balance switch. Kept thinking it was out of balance and repeating the rinse cycle to correct the issue.

That's interesting. The out of balance switches I've encountered simply stop the cycle until the condition is cleared by hand.

I believe on our F+P washing machine, it adds more water and try to agitate the load around in the hope this will balance it before trying to spin again.

I'm still on mechanical timers. These new fangled computerised machines are beyond me.

Seriously though, F&P sound like pretty advanced washers. It makes a lot of sense to try to correct the problem automatically and finish the cycle rather than to come home and find the wash less than half finished.
