EDIT

Just tried them setting ZEE

I'd say normal, I'd be willing to bet that "low" is crushing the blacks. Blacks should be be set with Black Level/Brightness (they are the same thing).

Depends on the black level setup from the source. As it sets the voltage reference level and it does get quite complicated lol as it can flatten if its not setup correctly...

0-255 (PC encoded) = Normal
16-235 (HDTV) = Low

I run low in my TV with the HTPC via HDMI outputs as i set the output display as HDTV which automatically selects the color system. Was the same with the popcorn hour also.

would like to know this as well. Just noticed a lot of crosstalk in my ua46c7000 when watching tangled 3d. Didn't notice it with any of the Shrek movies or how to train your dragon. Played around with all the Derrida but nothing seem to fix it.

Well, yes, but that gets back to calibrating the whole chain...

Though, from what you are saying, it actually *should* be low and they are just giving yet another confusing name to something that should be simple! *L* typical manufacturers..

So, Ka0sX - your eyes were right!.

yeah that is right, it would be easier if they simplified the name but then again i cant say I've looked at a manual to see what its description is LOL...

I've tried it both ways and seen no real difference in the end i chose Low over Normal and flattening the brightness as i would expect some detail to be lost since not everything seems to go up.

nice thread are you able to answer how the 3d is with the tv?

also with the tv recording can you watch one channel and record a different one? How does well the programming/scheduling work with it?

Ka0sX may want to chime in here too... 3D I've found to be much clearer than the previous series 7. It's also much nicer to have the TV automatically turn on/off 3D when it detects it and the glasses.

Haven't had time to fiddle with TV recording yet but I think it's just a single channel tuner.

how would this panel stand up against the KDL60EX720 which is a larger screen but is a little cheaper off the line

comparing the brands it seems the viewable difference is that samsung panels seem more vibrant and sonys seem more picture like.
