Is this new leaked release in 32bit or 64bit? 32 I assume at this point?

Should be 64-bit.

I can't really see much reasons to make a 32-bit OS today when standard hardware are already beyond that limit.

Which do you disagree with and why?

The point is Vista is not 7 and 7 is not Vista.

Can't wait to get my teeth into an M2 or M3 build when(if) they leak...M1 just isn't worth it...

From what I hear it's virtually the same as 7. Later builds will be worth looking at.

Have to agree with this, I'm still using vista on my desktop, and have win7 at work and on my laptop. I really never notice the difference. I always liked vista, xp was just so old, outdated and ugly.

XP was brilliant, unlike Vista. It served a purpose for many many years.....we have now moved on graphically, systematically, and technologically to Windows 7 and beyond.

+1 XP looks outdated, using it here at work, Vista at home.

If Microsoft are determined to stick to a 3 year cycle on O/S releases, then I suspect most people will simply upgrade every 6 years.

That is certainly what I am planning to do.

Windows 7 is great, bring on Windows 9.

General computer users don't upgrade until their system breaks in some way.

My dad doesn't see the need to leave WinXP on his home computer, when it'll be supported by MS for another 3 years. (Security fixes.) ...At that point, he'll just replace the whole system.

Its the same girl under that skirt. She just went on a diet, bought some new clothes, fashion accessories, and seriously got dosed up on make-up.

From Win2k to XP = Incremental changes.
From XP to Vista = Major infrastructure changes.
From Vista to Win7 = Incremental changes.

UAC => Improved from Vista to Win7? The default setting in Win7 is worse (security-wise) than Vista. You either need to password your default admin-level account or change the UAC-level to max to close a potential security issue. (Which is back to Vista's UAC default setting.) ...They'll probably re-implement this setting properly in Windows 8.
