Default New to HTPC Machines, gonna build one.

Hey guys,

Im looking to build a Small HTPC.

Im going to be running windows server 2008 on it for a few months while I do some Microsoft Cert Study then ill be wipeing it off for what ever software would be best for a htpc i herd xbmc?

I was going to get a Intel atom board but found out they do not do virtualization which I need for running a virtual machine while doing the course. the new amd fusion boards support it how ever

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD.../E35M1I_DELUXE

this is the board im looking at. will it be good enough for a HTPC board, doing 1080p or 24p what ever you call it

Do you actually need "Virtualisation" support? I was under the impression it just makes them perform better.

Intel Atom + Nvidia Ion makes an awesome low power HTPC.

Stay away from Linux when using the AMD Zacate series boards and you should be good to go.
