Sounds cool.

Are you gonna be doing some modding? If so, what are your plans?

Pics please?

It's just a build log for now, we'll see how all the parts go together on whether or not I have to break out the dremel.

Pics will definately be forthcoming sometime next week or early the following week as components start arriving. A long weekend + backorder on the case and CCDs is responsible for the delay.

Purple tubing is from Performance PCs (http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php) as I couldn't find an Aussie store with that colour in their catalogue.

As far as other parts are concerned, if others are looking for similar components suppliers so far as follows:

GAMMODS: Waterblock, fittings, radiator
The Koolroom: Reservior
PCCASEGEAR: Fans, CCDs, Zalman CPU cooler, fan controller
Greenbox iT: Motherboards, Corsair case, RAM
Nepean Micro Computers (my local computer store in Penrith NSW): Everything else, kindly price matched by Dean to MSY/Mwave/Skycomp prices, what a champ!

Both ASUS mobos are a black base with yucky light blue highlights on the DIMM/PCI slots and dark blue NB/SB heatsinks. I'm hoping it'll be alright with the purple, guess we'll see.

Currently running in my existing system @ 825 core with 1005 ram @ 1.15V. Temps hovering aound 46. The memory has been really flakey on my 5850 at pretty much anything over stock.

In news on the build, the first lot of parts arrived today Res from TKR and pump from ebay.

The Res is a piece of art, I love it! Here's the base with 4 sockets:

Same clocks as the ref card, slightly different cooler setup.

Ref 5850: http://www.amd.com/US/PRODUCTS/DESKT...verview.aspx#2

Powercolor 5850: http://www.powercolor.com/au/product...#Specification

Powercolor do a few "PCS+" versions of the 5850 that are factory overclocked. The "Dirt 2 edition" has the highest overclock @ 875/1225, though they don't specify the voltage it runs at. Mine will run stable @ 875 core but, it gets a bit hot for my liking.

Well, everything has arrived and looking at all those parts together has raised some problems:

1. The RX240 rad doesn't fit in a 600T, there's not enough clearance above the mobo. Unfortunatley, I scratched the paint on the rad with the corsair's top grill while toying around with the fitting, so that won't be going back for an exchange New slimline RS240 ordered on the weekend.

2. How bloody hard is it to source M3 x 35mm socket head screws for the pump top and 6/32 x 1-1/4 for the scythe fans

More updates when new parts come in I guess
