Good stuff mate.

How is the quality of Dereks button box?
I might grab one and one of his Sli-pro pocketed wheel plates.

Looking forward to more updates!

Hey terroristone, hows things?

Will try to get some pics up this week. Need to tidy the room a little. Gone back to seriously considering 42" or 50" LCD's.....With BF3 and Eve online also o my gaming list, 3 X 50" will be epic!

Just need to make a choice!

yeah good mate, its nice to see you getting back into sim racing, u still have all my stuff packed away my interest has shifted to my Harley! if i were you i would go with 50" monitors or even look at 720p projectors, a friend of mine picked up a new 720 (120hz) projector from the us for $600 odd dollars, 3 of these for 3d surround would be the best way to go in my book!
Regards Andrew

YEAH BUDDDDY!

Pedal are being shipped next week!

Time to buy some screens and a new GFX card!

The biggest issue I have with buying a bigger screen (TV say for example), is testing it instore to check its clear, crisp, and can display a game at a high frame rate. My laptop does not cut it for gaming so its a bit hard to test it that way...

Any ideas?

They are coming. I am moving the cockpit into my study as its going to serve as my main PC rig also so once its moved, I will take some pics.

I have decided 3 X 42" screens is just simply toooooooo big, so as a happy medium I am going to run 3 X 27" PC monitors which means I no longer need to stress about wether a TV will run correctly or not, etc.

Will be buying screens and new video card in three weeks time. Then its all together and ready to rock.

Stay tuned!

Ok guys.

Pedals finally arrived! Whoooohoooo!!!

Now that I officially have all the "sim" type parts, I can get my screens. I will be grabbing them next weekend.

I promise to get some pics up when its all done. Reason being is that its in the spare room at the moment, which is a mess, and I want it tidy before I show her to the world!

Stay tuned, I am almost racing now!

OK PEOPLE!.

I'm getting excited. Finally got the rest of the bits for the cockpit yesterday entailing:

3 X Asus 27" VE276 Monitors ($330 each from CPL)
1 X Sapphire 6990 4G Video Card ($830 from CPL)
1 X SilverStone 1000W Gold PSU ($240 from CPL)

I should note this is being added to my existing system:

Antec DF85 Case
Gigabyte 965P-DQ6 Motherboard
8GB Corsair RAM
Q6600 Quad core @ 3.4 (trying to get to 3.8-4GHz once water cooling arrives)
128GB Kingston SSD

I think this PC should be up for running games for the at least the next couple of years. That's my hope anyways. I was trying to get some more life from my DQ6 and Q6600. I have had both for about 5 years now (bought q6600 when they first came out), and after reading many comments and reviews it appeared I would only get about a 10-15% improvement by going to an i7. I decided to overclock it instead (my first which I am proud of!), so hopefully running at 3.4 will close that performance difference gap a little. All is stable running 50 passes of Intel Burn Test. The VID on the Q6600 in my system at present is 1.300V which I am told is not too bad at all. I am going to attempt 3.8 when my water cooling setup is put together, tested, etc.

(I have another Q6600 CPU in case this one blows up or something, but temp max out at about 68c, max spec is 71c for G0, on IBT 50 rounds, which is within specs, and voltage is at 1.4125. Idle is low to mid 30's.)

I am told the 6990 is the bees knees as far as single card solutions go at the moment, especially for multiple screen setups. I have confirmed the q6600 will have the bandwidth to be able to handle this card.

I will be putting this together on the weekend, and as promised long ago, pictures will be coming this weekend of the setup!
