Halo 4

Very keen, but will not be purchasing.

I spent far too many hours playing Halo 3 when I should have been doing other things... like studying.

But all my mates don't play it anymore, and that was the best part about it, multiplayer teamup, getting the server, and trash talking Americans.

For me the single player was always the best because of the story. I'd play it through once and that's it.

I'm a PC gamer usually, so the clumsy controller just doesn't cut it for fps unforunately.

Not a halo fan by far but reach was sweet but this game looks awesome. Will be a buy for me, Thats if I ever get off ghost recon

i'm a little confused.

how does forward unto dawn tie into halo 4 ?
are the spartans some kind of secret elite unit that no one is meant to know exists ?
why don't the cadets know about the covenant and spartans ?

i haven really followed halo lore, so if someone can enlighten me please
oh is there any back story to masterchief ? i.e how he was chosen + trained/engineered etc

me neither but i think it's either set before halo 1 or the UNSC so how find him after being adrift in space after halo 3.. if someone can clarify that then by all means.

Forward onto dawn is set before the covenant had started attacking, well, up until now when clearly they are under attack.

Master cheif will show up next week and save them right as it seems they are about to be killed by an elite or something.

I suggest you read some of the halo books if you are interested because they are really well written and are just great reads, but this is a plot summary from "the fall of reach" book, from wikipedia:

The novel opens with the civilian Dr. Catherine Halsey and Lieutenant Jacob Keyes traveling to meet John, a six-year-old boy. Dr. Halsey reveals to Keyes that John is one of 150 children who possess rare genetic markers making them suitable for conscription into the SPARTAN-II program, a secret experiment with the aim of creating super soldiers for the UNSC to quell rebellions.[8] Seventy-five of the children are kidnapped by operatives of the Office of Naval Intelligence and replaced by clones engineered to die of natural causes shortly thereafter. From this point on, the recruits are known only by their first name and a three digit number. John-117 and the rest of the children are drilled and trained by Franklin Mendez; John demonstrates leadership of his fellow Spartans leading to his promotion to squad leader. As to it tying into the game,

Lasky (the main guy from this series) , you see him as an older commander at the start of the series, and he is a commander of some rank on the UNSC Infinity. I believe he has a significant role in Halo 4, though I don't know what exactly, I don't want to look up spoilers but my guess would be he finds Master Cheif's Beacon maybe, or commands the humans after infinity crash lands on the planet.

Hmmm, seems like their introducing a back story to Master Chief, and perhaps going to show his face... not sure how I feel about that.

The back story has always been there.. I think it's awesome, IMO it's the best untapped story they could go after. Don't worry, Cheif was still a badass when he was a kid. Seriously, read the books.
