Default 500px - who's using it?

Who on OCAU is using 500px? It's like a good version of Flickr without the spam and cutesy comments, finding a lot of high end work on the site just browsing aswell.

It's a pay site, so any more than 20 images requires a subscription, but if it's a folio of works then 20 is plenty I think.

Post your page, I'll watch everyone

As you said though.. great for 20 of your best so I think ill review and put some more up and load up some film shots on there.

I had a look at it a few nights ago, looking at some of the photos and comments.. it seems like the same old Flickr circle-jerk thing.

Is there really anything compelling that it offers that Flickr doesn't?

It depends what you are after. If you are after somewhere to store all your photos and uploads and hide some/make some public then no.

If you want 20 of your best shots that can be easily seen all in one place? Then yep.. If that is what you need.

Otherwise not really

it offers a free portfolio gallery to showcase your work...

the quality of work on there is amazing so kind of makes you want to put very few pictures...if any at all...

i love it! added you all

chris and jack - your photos are amazing!

here's my humble offering:

I agree about only putting your best up there

I have 6 images and thinking of taking down 2 of them as i don't think they compare to the others posted on 500px.

I've been on there for a short while,

http:\\500px.com\matthewpost

I really enjoy it, some very inspiration works. I recently purchased an "awesome" account, to see what it was all about. I don't feel it added anything to my experience.

The 20 photo/month limit is more than I would ordinarily every use.

I do feel the website lacks a sense of community.

HOLY GEEBUS! The standard is amazing... I want to join in the sole hope that just because of the high calibre, it will push me to be better...
