It's only the normal BW, not the ultimate with backlit keys. Don't need that fancy stuff

Really? Why's that? I do all my programming (C#, C, Bash, PHP, VHDL, Matlab, Octave) on an 87 key. I find it more comfortable.. What is the use of a numpad? besides IP address and quick navigation in programs such as Ipe?
That said.. The main tools I use are Vim and Visual Studio.

I tried once without a numpad... realised how much i use it day to day. Then again i mess with excel a fair bit, use the calc to do expenses you know like add up how much beer money i need and so fourth.

When just using my laptop at another office i get annoyed quickly that i don't have a keyboard plugged in that has numpad. Just me of course.

Still cheaper to buy your Filco boards from OCAU Sponsors AusPCMarket considering their prices include shipping as well.

Nothing but excellent service from them too.

Filco Majestouch2 TenKeyless $149.60
Filco Majestouch2 104-key $161.70

Most of what I do is programming and I prefer the extra deskspace over a full-sized keyboard. For numbers I just use the top row and if I'm ever working on filling in spreadsheets or things that are number intensive I just whip out my $15 Logitech wireless numpad from my drawer.

The Leopold's still better (and in value) than the Filcos, especially the models with PBT keycaps.

The Leopolds are basically a clone of the Filco, just with the option for better keycaps, removable cable and a better base. Although the big keys have better supports on the Filco.

Personally I have a Filco from auspcmarket w/PBT keycaps from qtan on ebay. Although that's because we couldn't get Leopolds locally when I got mine.

Got my Leopold FC500R cherry brown. It's a hell of a lot quieter than the Blackwidow with cherry blues. The tactile feedback isn't as pronounced though, I thought it was supposed to be about the same. The boss is very happy that I am using the cherry browns though

Yep, I will always get my Filco's at Auspcmarket, still the best value in AUSTRALIA.

Enough said......
