The Leopold's still better (and in value) than the Filcos, especially the models with PBT keycaps.

The Leopolds are basically a clone of the Filco, just with the option for better keycaps, removable cable and a better base. Although the big keys have better supports on the Filco.

Personally I have a Filco from auspcmarket w/PBT keycaps from qtan on ebay. Although that's because we couldn't get Leopolds locally when I got mine.
Agreed re Filco vs Leopold. The only negative I can think of with the Leopold is that they use non-standard spacebars that you can't easily replace (but then again, if you buy the PBT model I guess you'll never need to).

I was very happy with my 500R, but I was starting to notice some slight wear on the ABS keys.

browns require 10g~ less actuation force i believe.

Hunt down some whites/clear if you want the same tactility (that a word?) as blues.

That's what im currently doing

Yep, I'm looking for Clears as well. Might end up getting the Frosty Deck yank-tank.

Just don't like the size of it, because I have a spare space in the corner room that really is small, perfect for a TKL but not for a full 104 key monster.

I like the Filco's cause I like my Ninja boards I can touch type so don't really need text on my keys but I'm fairly useless when it comes to secondary functions (!@#$%^&*), can never remember which is which lol.

Heh, yer I thought of that after I made my post. In fact its pretty good for coding on, my fingertips don't get as fatigued. I'm so happy with the FC500R in fact, I bought another for home to replace the Blackwidow there.

I'm the same with my Das Keyboard Ultimate Silent, i don't need to look at the keyboard but my secondary functions which i don't use all that often i tend to need to press a few buttons sometimes to get it right.

Done by someone who hates ripster, no doubt.
For those who don't know, he is the world's loudest Filco fanboy over there and jumps into any and all thread just to badmouth other brands, Ducky for example.

I guess you hadn't head that he's banned from geekhack? If I thought he had the technical skill I'd be suspecting that it was ripster himself that did the 'hacking'

Anyway, enough talking about a forum that isn't OCAU :-)

Just in case no-one has seen this, here is a curiosity on ebay:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HP-150-To...#ht_967wt_1396

I almost placed a bid on it, but then I realised that I'm not quite enough of a collector to buy something I can't actually use on a 'normal' computer.

The guy who actually supplies all info relating to keyboards at Geekhack.

I think he's the only one who has over 50'000 posts alone. But lately he has disappeared due to some ban placed on him by iMav.

I think it's to do with his general behaviour which was getting somewhat nasty at GH (but that is only a feeling not actual fact).

A lot of people hate his guts but I love all the effort he had put into Geekhack including his wiki with detailed descriptions on everything to do with keyboards and marble-mice (YES, I do actually read his stuff, very informative).

I can never be ungrateful for all his effort he had put into that place because we all depend on the work he had done to label and categorise correctly, every known keyboard that was ever made. Sometimes you have to give credit where it's deserved, and he has rightly claimed that from me.
