That clock-keyboard would be the most annoying thing to type on, looking at the way the keys are laid-out. Still, looks cool at a glance.

Looks great - How are you enjoying the new keyboard? I'm trying to decide between the one you got or the new Ducky DK-9087 i Shine which will be available in the coming months.

loving it so far, having to adjust my way of typing though to keep it quiet lol i've taken into work the past few days and everyone is envious but annoyed at how loud it is.

keeping it for nightshifts when im on my own now

that photo was taken at work a few hours ago all here alone in the dark hehe.

only problem is im addicted again (have used mechanical in the past, went from my old model M to a new logitech gaming keyboard and thought i could live without) most likely going to have to get a topre now and see what all the fuss is about. oh well its a hell of a lot cheaper then some of my other hobbies lol.

Oh, you are now screwed....... the keyboard obsession will never end, because you want to try everything ever made with Cherry Switches and then some.

Topre might be better for you at work since your idiot co-workers like to complain. But then again your Topre could just mysteriously disappear when you go for coffee. So only take something to work you can afford to lose. Hence Logitech's still seem to be popular because they are not that valuable to lose.

Pondering disassembling my QuickFire Rapid, spraying it to a nice gunmetal, and getting some better looking keycaps. Does anyone have experience removing individual switches from a plate mounted board? How easy is it? (Thinking of replacing some keys like the Esc and Backspace with something heavier like Blacks or Blues)

Because this might be your first time in taking apart a mechanical keyboard then the Quickfire would be the perfect candidate. First buy some keycaps, which is the cheapest route to go in modifying your keyboard.

I massacred a Leopold keyboard by trying to desolder the original black switches and swapping them other to Blues and Clears. It wasn't easy or nice to do. You need the best quality soldering iron plus a nice de-soldering tool to soak up the original solder from the pcb.

I simply stuffed up the soldering and I trashed the whole lot into the bin. Trying to solder stuff wasn't easy for me plus all the fiddly bits where too small for my elephant hands to deal with. Plus I wasted a whole two weeks trying to accomplish something that in the end was an utter mistake.

It was a BIG failure for me.

But maybe you'll have better luck than what I had.

I have never done it, but looking at the diagram for the switches, can't you just pop out the upper plastic housing and replace the spring/stem into the one used by blue/clears?

They all seem to share the same outer black plastic switch housing, with roof section held in place by little tabs.

You could go that route, but I already found it difficult to solder a whole switch, so taking apart individual switches for their internal swap over would be a total nightmare to me.

I knew that some people over at Geekhack (when it was running) who offered their services to swap over individual switches on any given keyboard. But stupid me, thought that it would be easy.......it really isn't.

Yeah you just need to wait. Group Buys are never fast when it comes to getting anything off Geekhack (RIP).

Ummm, did you know that KBT's are currently sold by Qtan;

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/KBT-Pure-...item43b1888025

I know its Red MX but occasionally he will get Browns in but they really disappear quick smart.

Oh he's got the board and is shipping them, 13 went out today but I wasn't in that list. I've already been waiting a cpl months

He has the white ones in brown switches, but I wanted non-LED as I'm going to use it for work.
