Default Triple channel ram in dual channel motherboard

Just wondering whether there would be a problem using triple channel ram in a dual channel motherboard ?
I have the ASUS Crossfire IV Formula and it's running 2x2g OCZ ram atm. Fould some triple channel OCZ ram for sale here and was would like to buy this and use 2 sticks to give me 8G total.

RAM is absolutely identical to my dual channel stuff . Surely using 2 of the 3 sticks would not cause me any problems ?

Hi, i noticed the thread with the ram for sale and what you wanted to do then...

it shouldnt be an issue at all... but only drama is if the ram are from different revisions then this may cause compatibility issues, you may have to relax the timings.

Cheers Alan.
