Nice mod. Do you think blacking out what remains of the bezels will help or hinder the viewing experience? Looking at the photos, I could perhaps live with the silver, or does it impact too much on apparent contrast in dark scenes?

Actually our traffic report in the mornings is from the traffic control center (naturally) and I noticed they have 6 huge screens with what appears to be no bezels so they are out there.
There are some commercial panel makers that do large format screens with very slim bezels for use in video walls like you mentioned, but they are still very very expensive. Eyefinity on 6 x 50" 1080p panels would be beyond awesome though...

My Samsung 2443BW+ has only a 10mm bezel, which could theoretically be reduced to maybe 7 - 8mm if the case was removed. Now I just need to find two more of them somehow....

I see no reason why you couldn't just bolt whatever stock stand back on once the case was removed. But you might need to drill/tap some holes in the back panel like OP did.

I suppose you could also chop up the back plastics since your goal is to just debezel and still use the back plastics in order to have a working stock stand.

Thanks guys! Nice to see so much interest in this. If any of you decide to debezel your monitor(s) as well, I'd love to see some pics~

I haven't heard of using lenses for this purpose before. I'm thinking that it could easily give me a headache though :/

Now that I've been using the monitors like this for about two weeks, I've got to say the silver doesn't really bother me as much as I thought it would. I can easily live with the silver, but I'm gonna try blacking them out anyway, just to see if I'm missing out.

CCFL backlit monitors should be pretty much the same procedure. Check out this thread, I'm pretty sure all their monitors are CCFL backlit.

Looks good mate!

If I didnt have 3 completely different 24" monitors I would consider doing it too.... I am used to it now though... even if the colour is different on all of them

I think its actually easier on the eyes. It 'straightens' out light rays making the monitor space appear to be larger and about 10m further back - that should be easier on the eyes, which dont like focussing close.

A lot of people havent heard of it outside the flight sim community which is unfortunate given so many are trying to eliminate bezels. You should google it and see if its for you, might be worthwhile

We've got a Barco video wall at work. 8x 50" 1080p screens. Haven't got an eyefinity capable rig any more... but it could have been fun. FWIW, we use it to display 3 2048px x 2048px resolution air traffic control displays for customer demos and the like.

The are an LED DLP rear projection setup, but 1mm bezel between screens is nice.

You'd find internally, they'd be almost identical.
Worth while doing.

I've de-bezeled many monitors for arcade machines and jukeboxes. It's not hard. you just need a thin flathead screwdriver and don't try to force it and be very careful not to damage the panel. The outside is all just plastic anyway. Serves no other purpose other than to pretty it up and have a place for the button panel to go and also a logo. If your going to attempt it, start at the corner (usually one of the top ones) and slide in the scredriver and then carefully jimmy it until a single clip comes out then it's easy job to pull and all the others will follow. I usually end at the bottom as the ribbon cable that attaches the buttons to the panel itself and usually 2 tiny screws you have to undo the PCB with from the front.

I was seriously considering 3x LG IPS235P's for de-bezelling but having to drill my own holes for the VESA mounts is putting me off a little. OP want to share some thoughts?
