Arrow My Progressive LOTR Warhammer Collection - Updated 16/12

Well, this probably won't interest many here but since earlier this year I've started building a LOTR miniature collection which will take at least another 12mths or so to complete so this will serve as an ongoing WIP update blog.

I used to paint myself but have stopped due to arthritis so I'm working closely with an incredible Polish painter Wojtek aka Viruk from Independent Painters to have each army commission painted to precise specifications so nothing is left to chance (I'm a pretty huge Tolkien fan).

Here's a few sample pics from the first completed army which has taken around 4 months to complete -

MORDOR

Witch King on Fell Beast

Sauron

The Nine Nazgul

Mouth of Sauron

Troll Chieftan

Mordor Orcs w/Captains and Command

Morannon Orcs w/Captains and Command

Gothmog

Black Guards of Barad Dur

Rest of the images here -

http://s40.photobucket.com/...tudio%20LOTR/Mordor/

All photos have been taken by me in my work studio.

reags out.

Cheers mate. Funny you mention the field...here's a few pics I took a while ago setting up some of the minis in a battle scenario on my custom Osgiliath table (it's quite large @ 180x120cm). Will probably take more in-game shots when I receive my first 'Good' army (Dwarves) and finally have an actual game.

Dear lord... I'm not a huge fan of LOTR but those figurines are incredibly well painted

Also, your diorama/table is awesome

Wow you made that?! Super awesome! Looks even better then the set up in the Warhammer shops.

I've always wanted to have a go at painting these but it's so expensive -__-

The table was a custom one off made in Poland and came in enough boxes that barely fit my Mazda 3, but it was an average job and arrived slightly damaged as most of the buildings were plaster cast so I've been progressively repainting/regluing/tweaking/adding scenery (grass and shrubs & water effects) to give it a more realistic look.

Over the next few months I'm hoping to obtain a Gondor force that'll match this terrain so should be good if it works out.

Haha you know you want to.

I have my gf to blame for getting me into it after stopping for over a decade.

Just watched the LOTD extended edition on blue-ray over the holidays and I've got to say again your collection has been fantastically painted.

Very cool, would love to see some more pics in thread.

I've been collecting citadel / GW miniatures for 25 year (only very rarely now as GW's business model sux). Nicely painted LOTR figures there.

Are you playing WOTR? As I recently start collecting LOTR figures to play these rules.
