AWESOME!!!
![]() I don't know what's going on in these pictures but I love it. That's a HUGE table you've got, I take it this isn't the sort of thing you just pack away when you're not using it ![]() I take it the hole in the middle is where you will be controlling everything from? Do you have an engineer's hat and overalls?

I like trains.
![]() I used to have a HO train set that was a bit bigger than a single bed. Endless fun. My bro had N scale stuff, he wanted Z scale but it was sooo hard to find before it was so easy to buy off the net. I nostalgia hard whenever I see one being built. Be sure to keep us updated!

Mate that looks awesome! Wish I could dedicate that kind of space for trains but the woman would murder me. I have boxes of HO stuff stored away but no decent space (of my own) to use it. I saw this thread last night and have already starting planning a N guage layout haha. Some trains are already on the way
![]() Looking forward to seeing the progress

Epic - can't wait to see the finished product. It's interesting to go through the pics to see just how much work goes in to it..

Adding this to the list of things not too look at while the #1 Son is about
![]() I've got an old set, just a basic one, sets up to ~1.2m x 2.4m. I like how you've done the hills and bridges and multi level stuff, always wondered the best way to go about it... and that looks darn good

Awesome!
![]() I used to love my train set when I was a kid. I still have a bunch of stuff lying in boxes just behind me here. HO and a bit of N gauge. I have that exact same orange TGV engine but with the pantographs still attached (bit rusty tho ). It's maybe 20 - 30 years old?Look forward to seeing the final result. |

My aim tonight is to have the edge track elevations built. My weekend aim is to have the outer loop laid so I can start to run trains.
The problem with multi elevation is that the track becomes alot more complex and it is much harder to make the track stable and to remove all the derail points. but seeing this is my 4th layout I am confident that I can do it right first time but that is only from alot of experience. My last layout i made 2 of the hills too steep and hte one before that I accidently had one of the corners with a slight bank outwards which caused derails. This time I have it all planned out how to avoid this. Will post more pics tonight after the front elevation is complete and the ramps to and from the elevation are complete. |

When I move out in a few years to come he will gain a train set. Now it is standing it won't be moving, however it is possible to cut into thirds to transport with alot of effort.

Tonights effort is about to begin. But first I took photos of all the trains i have here in Canberra. I didn't connect the carriages because that takes hours.

great setup , i remember watching a show on Austar on rc hobbies , there was a thing on model train sets , the trains had ip addresses so that you could run multiple trains on the same line , unbelievable
thanks for the share , saw a brochure about model railway exhibit here in town so i might head along now and check out the setup

Ipex,
That is identical to mine. They don't have IP's but they have addresses. It is what the DCC technology is that I linked earlier. Basically all of those trains in that picture have different addresses and work off of the 1 controller. I can control each train individually from the hand unit with only 1 power feed. See the pictures of the remote below with hte different loco names: Last edited by capt0; 22nd September 2011 at 7:01 PM. |
