Notice the switch on the Canon 70-200 F/2.8L IS Mark 2 is a bit more sensitive to being knocked off Auto to manual also than my old School 70-200 Non IS which never moved. I think I'll tape the sucker up

Yeah I do the same on all my lenses, don't think I've ever used MF in like 4 years of shooting DSLR's...

Probably should not post this, but my first full season shooting basketball. I was shooting for a university team in dark stadiums, and I was shooting Pentax at the time. I spent ages on noise reduction and had lots and lots of photos OOF as the AF system in the *istD just could not keep up. When I got a great shot I was really happy.
For the finals I finally switched to Cannon (20D) and the AF was just so much better. The people paying me said that it was the best shots of the season. Probably why despite my love of Limited lenses I never went back to Pentax. Oh yeah I almost forgot about the trip to Prague where I decided to shot almost the whole trip with my new Manual focus lenses before I got to be any good at Manual focusing. To top it all off it rained pretty much the whole time. I only have 200 selects out of 2K photos for that trip.

Don't know if this counts, but:
Had a friend of a friend approach me to shoot her wedding, and I politely told her that I don't do weddings (in truth I just don't advertise that I do). Turned out she was a guest at another wedding I shot at the weekend... awkward

Thread Revival Time.
Shot my first wedding at the end of last year, and everything felt pretty good. Then I got home, and loaded the photos up... A lot of moments where I wondered what the heck I was thinking at the time of shooting. Recovering most of them, and still got a fair few that I'm happy with, but pissed off with myself for screwing up on shots that should've been easy and safe. Guess I'm not the first person to go through it, but it's made me realise that I'm not as good as I thought I was. That can't be bad, I guess...
