thats right, it is under clocked to 800Mhz though I've been the many sites showing this. I suspect it gets to hot.
The iPad 2 is 1Ghz Dual. Thats what i thought about the CPU, like comparing AMD VS Intel.

You can compare the Apple A5 to a Cortex A9 ARM CPU. The A5 will typically be 10%-20% faster, due to the optimisations done by Intrinsity (who have now been aquired by Apple).

An OS that is optimized to a specific set of hardware will always run significantly better than one that isn't.

In the case of the A4/A5, the hardware is also optimised to run a specific type of OS and App.

Unless it's a CDMA iPhone 4 which also has the same aluminium band around the side. Of course, the obvious difference with that is it doesn't have a SIM slot.

Quick question...
I recently sold my iPhone. Obviously I wiped it before I sent it off, but now I have an issue with imessage. Basically all my iPhone toting friends are saying it takes forever to send me any sms because it keeps trying to send me an imessage first (which obviously can't get through). I can't get imessages with my SGS2, so is there somethere I can tell apple I no longer have an iphone so I can solve this problem?

I'm getting occasional outgoing calls without audio and other calls with very weird sounding audio, both can be fixed by toggling speaker on and off, I just got my 4s a few days ago from JB....
Also had a sim lock message appear once and had to get the PUK code last night.... Thoughts on these issues? I know the first one is a wide spread one... |

Anyone getting terrible battery life? I'll lose like 4% sending 3 messages on whatsapp! that would be 1% MAX on my iphone 4.

How many people here are experiencing cracking on phone calls?

lots of talk about how dreadful the battery life is. is this likely to be software or hardware related?

I went into location services and switched off most of them. Left on Siri and Compass and that's it. Seems to have made battery life much better. I'd say it's about on par with the iPhone 4 now.
What does totally shit me about the 4S is Siri. Is it just me or is it a piece of crap? It can't answer anything. I ask it the date "Sorry I don't know the date in 'my street name'" I ask it the time "Sorry I don't know the time in 'my street name'" I ask it a location or address and it says that it can only look for businesses in the United States blah blah US English. Most of the questions I've asked it have resulted in a web search. Whoopdee doo. I've tried some SMS's and so forth and they work ok but I just can't see a use for it so far. Maybe making calls in the car but I could do that before... Am I missing something? Maybe Siri version 4 could be good.
