Went ahead and made an account with sound cloud
http://soundcloud.com/c6-productions

I'll put some more variation of music up there, just starting so things will improve.

The songs I do are more the kinda songs my friends like to rap to as well ones I like making..

They also are way more repetitive than a lot of the music I've been hearing but I think that after vocals are added, it would sound a lot better.

hey raykay,

your beats are sounding pretty crisp.
Well mixed. a bit repetitive but you know that already!

keep it up mate.
Also, why is the link c7-productions but the page says c6 and your avatar?

Hey thanks man,

I didn't notice that mistake, just fixed it now.

I want to learn more about how to do variation and things like that. I find that a lot of the rap and hip hop I listen don't have too much variation.

While I'm still starting and fresh, I'm thinking of trying Pro Tools instead of logic..

I think I'll find Pro Tools better, since it is the industry standard? Probably better to get used to it.

The standard doesn't really matter. It's more what you find easy and intuitive. Try em all I say.

I'll definitely try before I buy. I'd like software thats got the effects and instruments to do a large variety of different styles of music. The drums in Logic Express just don't cut seem right sometimes for me.

There isn't really one piece that will do everything. Most DAW's should take VST instruments so as long as you've got some samplers and some samples you should be good, effects chains are there in all the DAW's.

Oh okay, that clears things up for me. I'll give it a whirl this week.

I'm at a good place right now because I've got a good collection of stuff I've bought that actually seems to suit me quite well.

At the moment I'm just trying to limit myself to maschine to get some discipline and shit but we'll see.
