In 70% of benchmarks yes, albeit the differance is very marginal like within 1-3%, look if you after a platform that you can show off how big your epeen is and small your brain is then by all means hit the current revision of SB-E, Do i think SB-E will be a great platform in 3 - 6 months and new steppings GOD YES, new mobo revisions and cpu steppings will make x79 a great platform.

In 3 to 6 months I will decide what is on offer whether its good or not and thats if anything is on offer there is no hard evidence to back up your claim that anything will be released in the forseeable future will be any good, really for the large part your talking hot air. To be honest normal SB was a side grade over X58 but most people got it anyway and the same will happen to SB-E.

Dude I would listen to Fester. Even though he's usually an arrogant condescending prick, I hate to admit it but he's in the know and "in with the boys". So I would take his advice. Like he says, you should have waited a couple months before the revised gear comes out.

Im sure he does, but that doesnt give a right to talk like an "arrgant condecending prick" anyway i m taking his advise onboard.

any way some results for this cpu primed it overnight its rock stable at 4.6 1.368volts using h100 cooler on medium heat late 60s to early 70s according to realtemp.

Production of the C1 stepping should have already started, or is about to start. However, the C2 stepping isn’t expected until next year, as the qualification process isn’t expected to be complete until the end of this year.

OOOOER. That's a beauty!! Dang, how much rad space have you got?

And does that kind of WC hold temps down even when under load and with high voltages? I've never been sure about WC like that... like, if the WC setup is powerful and efficient enough, can it keep a processor at ambient?

Impressive stuff!!!

x79 is already the faster platform in 3 & 4 way SLI, and without the need of NF200 & its added latency..

Look at the 3-way results

That's what I've been saying too. P67/Z68 isn't workable for high end GPU setups.... if there was a mobo that did 4-way SLI on the P67/Z68 chipset I probably would have given it a go but there isn't.

Exactly why I am with x79 too. More pci express lanes, more cpu cores, more cache and quad channel ram is what i wanted.
