Second hand information from Nikonrumors.com ...
Unless I have it wrong, in one of the documentation for the D800E Nikon has created a electronic AA which there is an on/off option. So when you need the extra sharpness you just turn AA off. Edit: I do have it wrong... AA is removed completely for the D800E... my bad. Last edited by VTi-RT; 7th February 2012 at 8:10 PM. |

Camera pro is local stock no?
They always seem to have much lower pricing than anywhere else, coupled with their eBay store, it makes me think they're grey... |

genuine aussie stock with australian manufacuturer's warranty... they're listed on nikon.com.au's site as a pro stockist...it's nice to see the price similar to US pricing for once...
in their FAQ: 4. 100% Australian manufacturer’s warranties. Guaranteed. When it comes to your gear that you know and trust, we understand how important it is to have full warranty support. Which is why all equipment purchased through CameraPro comes with a full Australian manufacturer’s Warranty.

well actually.. this camera is directed at ISO100 shooters... namely landscape and studio. if you want real world, fast and hand held, then the D4 is what you should be looking at.

Just shows that by going after the 5d2 market, they've cannibalised their D3x market and alienated D700 users who want a cheaper, compact D4.
It's still one serious camera and hardly unexpected. Things have changed since the D700 was released. |

Would have liked the small body D800 to continue the low light market but I guess it has as stepped away from its heritage and taken to the market (MP race and Vid HD and i suspect the 5d2 market share). Where the D3x would have fill this segment before this might kill it.
I still would like to see high ISOs to see the limits that the new sensor has come in terms of MP vs noise vs the (ex)flagship d3x. I downloaded some of the files and its impressive size. But its nothing new in terms of sharpness/noise I havent seen before.
