Reference designs should have a pair of 6 pins. I think the reference PCB for the 660TI is pretty much the same as the 670?

Lol at the Gigabyte OC 660 Ti with free fans for $399 on PCCG.

The price of the card was $379 prior to that being put up and the fans are on sale for $9 each. So you are actually paying $2 more than what the original prices were. Where is the FREE in that?

Pretty much, unfortunately the reduced bandwidth rapes games with high AA.

Also, for anyone in the market for a decent cheap 670/680, shopping express have $40 and $50 of some cards. The GigByte GTX670 OC IS $419 plus shipping (it's costing me $14 to ship two cards)' easily the best price in Australia, could be signs of an incoming price 'relaxation'. Check out the post on OzBargain.

Gday Guys

Are all Gtx 690's are the same ref? There is no "better" one?

Also is there somwhere on the net that updates it's GPU benchmarks as per driver update? Interested to see the performance difference compared to release.

cheers

Bob

Yep, all are identical as per strictly demanded by Nvidia. Of coarse like any GPU quality / capability varies with each individual card..

Hey guys this might sound like a dumb question, but can you SLI a gtx 670 /w a gtx 660 or 680?
I can't seem to find anything specific regarding different GTX cards from the same series in SLI and the examples in FAQ are not very clear & just seem to talk about different GPU's not being compatible, they use XXXGT//GTX for all the damn examples!!

No. For example, an XXXGT cannot be paired with a XXXGTX in an SLI configuration.
All of the 6xx series cards have the GTX moniker, I've tried googling but everyone just refers to the SLI FAQ and since all the 6xx cards are using the same GK104 GPU I don't see why it wouldnt work but nobody seems to have attempted it either. Can't help but be curious, either I'm an idiot or it's an actual mystery.

if you had to pick between a 660ti and a 670, i'd go with the 670....or a 680!

I'm so close to gettin the 690 it's not funny. I just think it's fair to give AMD the right of reply. I Enjoyed the 6990.

I reckon the 7990 will pull clear by a bee's dick. I will most likely go the 690 though cause I think the 7990 will chew power, cook bread and look butt f(*^ ugly.

But they at least deserve a chance when throwing this amount of cash around.

I think 690 is ugly looks tacky. I imagine the 7990 will look same as reference 7970 just little longer.

7990 will just have price as selling point unless they do something smart like make it 12gig otherwise I'd prob go 690 for lower noise and temp and better drivers.
