Hey guys, been mucking around with my 7990 now that the new thermal pads dropped the vrm temps by something stupid :p

I have been able to overclock core to 1100 mhz and memory to 1575 via the AMD overdrive controller... Did a few benches, bf runs but mostly heaven 4.0..

And I see no difference... in temps in anything... frames are the same and the minimum fps was decreased in heaven benches after overclocking lawl... Even if I drop the core to 950 and drop the memory even lower... same frames, same temps...

what is even happening, msi afterburner reports the 7990 as running at those increased speeds but I see no gain :(

    Any advice?...

    Throttling?

    What are your benchmark results?

I think I'll run it a few more times.. but the results are usually quite consistent. My temperatures are under 40 degrees.. with vregs at about 50.
