Following on from the thread here: http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?t=1013725 - this is the official group buy thread for Granite Ice Cubes :)

Purchase will be made from here: http://www.relaxhouse.com.au/product/granite-ice-freezable-granite-cubes

I have searched around, and these guys seem to be the cheapest granite stone supplier (soap stone can be cheaper)

Cost will be $15 per set, if I can order at least 20 sets. Payment required up front.

Delivery to me in Sydney is possibly FREE (5% discount code RELAXVIP), but may cost $21 ($1 each).

Pick up from Sydney CBD would be free, otherwise you would need to add on-postage.

The dimensions of the packages are 240x40x40mm each.

The weight of the packages is 350g each.

As such, on postage from 2000 would be:

    1 set - $6.60 (500g Aus Post satchel) / $9.20 (500g express post satchel)
    2-8 sets - $11.20 (3kg Aus Post satchel) / $12.55 (3kg express post satchel)

    As an example:

    Posted

    1 set posted total = $22.23 ($15 + $0.63 + $6.60) / $24.83 express [~ $22.50 per set delivered]
    2 sets posted total = $42.46 / $43.81 [~ $22 per set delivered]
    3 sets posted total = $58.09 / $59.44 [~ $20 per set delivered]
    4 sets posted total = $73.72 / $75.07 [~ $18.50 per set delivered]

    etc.

It might help for me to send a bulk lot to each regional centre for someone to distribute?

    Pick up

    1 set = $15.63
    2 sets = $31.26

    etc.

Delivery in Sydney may be available by negotiation (and potentially at cost for my time and petrol :))

Why you want Granite Ice Cubes?

    • For shits n giggles
    • To impress your friends (this is OCAU, we don't have friends?)
    • To chill your spirits without diluting them with water/ice
    • Safe and hygienic to use
    • They only take 20mins to re-freeze (vs. hours for soapstone/ice)
    • For shits n giggles

also, if you see someone in the buy list that might be close to you (e.g. all Adelaidians :p) maybe you could organise in this thread to get 1 (or 2) packages sent to a central person for further distribution? up to you guys though, but it would again save you a few dollars. let me know :)

the idea of having to post/organise pick up for any more than that doesn't appeal to me at all, considering i'm not even making any money off this!

Any other questions, please ask :)

    Cheers

    added

also, depending on where these need to be sent, it might work out cheaper to send bulk lots to a moderator in the relevant capital cities for distribution

won't know for sure until we see who gets in on this

hopefully we can make an order in the next 2 weeks

    cheers :)

EDIT - for my buying/selling references, please check some of my old for sale section posts, or my eBay username (stooge-007)

    done

    where are you located?

i may also order more than 20 (depending on interest) which will bring the price down slightly, as the postage (to me) cost will decrease

After speaking to Agg about this he's asked me to post some information so that everyone knows.

In some cases it might be better for members that are Interstate to purchase these directly from Relax House.

    1 set posted total = $19 + $7 postage = $26
    2 sets posted total = $38 + $7 postage = $45
    3 sets posted total = $57 + $8 postage = $65
    4 sets posted total = $76 + $8 postage = $84

    Postage stays at $7 for 1 or 2 then goes to $8 for 3, 4 or 5.

For those that can pick up from Stooge007 there is a definite saving.

    thanks Ma :)

postage quotes according to their postage estimate are:

    Perth (post code 6000) - $31
    Sydney (post code 2000) - $19
    Melbourne (post code 3000) - $15
    Tasmania (post code 7000) - $28
    Brisbane (post code 4000) - $23

where do you get $7 from?

i'm not trying to make money here

Don't use the estimator. Add one item to the basket and then click then put your postcode in.

I don't for one minute think you're trying to make money from this.

Actually they've changed the shipping now. That used to be for up to 10 now it goes up to $8 postage for 3, 4 or 5.

ok, so postage in the cart is only $21 for 20 sets

i'll make it $1 per set

    so these will now be:

$16 per set pick up in Sydney CBD

    $16pp for others

as above, it may work out cheaper for you to order directly, however you'd be up for $19 per set as opposed to $15, but i guess it depends on how many sets you buy

    i'll update the OP now

    cheers

Is it a possibility to ask Relax House to set up a special product for us at a reduced price? Will save you having to double handle everything :)
