Hardware points are received based on ranking within the same hardware and the more subs it has the more points it's worth. So if you have a 9800gt paired with a modern cpu and get first in 3dmark05 you'll get 42.8 points

Mainly LN2 is used to achieve those big scores @ 40 ..........
So I have looked on Hwbot as I have many 8800 types, best I can hope for is
    water cooling @ 20 points.

So without subzero + big volts + knowhow in a week = Fat chance

As a regular who likes to join in on the friendly comps, there is little incentive
for me to spend all that time & effort to bench for scores.

Still I am competitive & hell yes we all want to win.

A prize for doing NON LN2 please :) At least I could put my nice WC gear to use

I am going to try and find the time to join this. It is a good excuse to do some overclocking for once and this is an amazing set of prizes I imagine a lot of people are going to participate.

lol what a milestone, just commented a couple of days ago about the amd s939 being the last time amd beat intel, when the X2's came out being better than the Pentium d's until the core 2's came out. just seen the ryzen beating intel again, soooo good to see! wow can't believe it to be honest!!! woohoooo!!!

Shane41 your older cards don't need Ln2, just something cold like even icy water would get most the points. Make a chilled water setup for about -30 or DICE (if the card likes it) and you would be good. Knowing you Shane 10 cards would be the first crate of GPU's opened :p

But big prizes = big comp = big challenge

Join me to show what us little fishes can do

Guys, check the hardware points you can get with a i5 6600 and the XTU benchmark.
and you can also score great in benchmarks like 3dmark06 with a modern 4 or 6 core cpu and an older graphics card like something from the Nvidia 7xxx series.

Love your enthusiasm man :).........but mine is waning
    http://www.dictionary.com/browse/waned

I know the Overclocker Lords in here deserve to win .... as they bust so much shit every year.

Yes you'll get more people in this comp " for the win new Amd factor "
I keep saying it every year....... fill your AU OC ranks with new members  to encourage that " non frozen " prizes that they have a good chance of winning. If they are going to redline their $2K system then they must feel it is worth the risk. That's how I thought at the beginning of all this.
