Has anyone ordered anything from Geronimo Jerky in the last few months and actually received their order?
There's something on their website about moving premises over Christmas, but since then, radio silence. Their phone even rings out :thumbdn:

No need to buy a dehydrator. I make mine in the oven, tastes delicious and I can control how dry/spicy I want it. It's extremely easy to do.

That's how I used to do it... but the missus got a dehydrator for doing iced cookies and for setting fondant on cakes, so.. I now get to use a dehydrator.

    Same net effect though.

Nice. A dehydrator would handle the moisture better than the oven I'm guessing. The oven just drips the moisture onto the floor which I wipe up every hour or so.

    Nothing beats home made jerky

I hadn't bought Geronimo since before Christmas. Their last deal on ozbargain is full of comments about missing orders. At the last check the store rep hadn't been online sine that last debacle.

I've since bought twice from DJays Gourmet @ $77/kg https://www.djaysgourmet.com.au/
    and have been very happy.

Bought their Chilli and Extra Hot Chilli

It's quite comparable to Geronimo's chilli offerings.

Hmm, thanks guys. Time to lodge a Paypal dispute I guess.
    Disappointing.

Yep, this is the thread I was talking about. Actually back in June:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/251658
Rep hasn't been online since 5th July :(

    More recent discussion here
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/280500

and one from a week ago about another recent order that is AWOL
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/296780

Shame that they're still taking internet orders.

Their most recent Facebook post from back in December about moving production has 50 comments, but only 6 visible, so someone is obviously scrapping negative comments. Something they can't do on OzBargain.

Too dry for my liking anyway. Prefer to make my own in the oven. I am wanting to try a local offering though, Riverina Jerky (used to be Nicks).

Yeah, I also saw their note about moving premises and ordering new equipment in but haven't seen an update since.
It's pretty poor form if they're still taking orders but not fulfilling in March, they said delays were only expected until the new year (2017 presumably :paranoid: ).

It was handy having those pre-packaged 40g snack packs for half price, but it's still cheaper doing it yourself. I've just bought myself another 3kg to dry this week!!

Yeah, I put in an order on the 9th of January, so that's 10 weeks ago now. Beyond a joke.

I filed a paypal dispute last night.

If you google Geronimo Jerky their business listing shows

    Permanently closed
Geronimo Jerky is recorded closed at this location. If it's incorrectly closed, please report it.

But maybe that's the old location.

I see now they have closed their online shop, apparently to catch up on backorders.

Not that it affects me, after 2 months of waiting I filed a paypal dispute and have already been refunded.
They've never replied to my emails about my order, and didn't respond to paypal during the dispute period either.

Won't be ordering from them again.

Damn, I was actually meaning to give Geronimo a try.

Just got an order from Bigwig Jerky Co (mate of a mate), good enough for my standards, think he's won a few competitions.

You've gotta leave the door open a crack for the humidity to escape. I usually stick a pair of tongs in the door. Works a treat.

Yes, it was top notch when I sampled it a while back.
