    Gigabyte GeekRap Competition!
Thanks to our sponsor GIGABYTE providing some more fantastic prizes, The Australia OC HWBOT team are making another awesome competition!!

For those of you who don't know HWBOT is; hwbot.org is the foremost overclocking website, where individuals and teams compete in overclocking benchmarks against each other from all around the world, pushing hardware to it's silicon limits.

Currently our Australia OC HWBot team is ranked 18th in the world out of 3860 and is punching well above it's weight. The team is free to join and new members are welcome. Our home thread can be found here.

But we're also big fans of big talk so we're making it a little different this time with the return of the rap competition. Choose to compete with either AMD, Intel or your slamming rhymes.

    Prizes!
AMD First Place - Gigabyte AORUS AX370 Gaming 5
    Intel First Place - Gigabyte GA-Z270N-Gaming 5
    3x AORUS full length mousepads

The overclocking competition will be based on Geekbench 3.4.2 64bit
A Geekbench license will need to be purchased and is $16 from here
Intel overclockers will have a clock limit of 4.5ghz and their scores will be divided by number of threads.
    Geekbench3 can be downloaded here.
AMD overclockers will have a clock limit of 3.8ghz and their scores will be divided by number of threads also.
If you want to try turning HT/SMT or cores off to get a higher score, the scores will be divided by number of threads shown in CPU-Z

    Rap stars!
Simply submit a rhyme featuring the words/phrases "Gigabyte" "Until Dino Arrived" and "Rauf>Team Au"
Bonus points awarded for youtube submissions and we encourage you to get really creative with this challenge.
Take a look at the last competition for some ideas!

    Overclocking Rules
All Intel submissions will be a maximum CPU clock of 4503.00mhz as shown in CPU-Z
All AMD submissions will be a maximum CPU clock of 3803.00mhz as shown in CPU-Z
All submissions must feature the competition background, and a valid screenshot.
A valid screenshot for Geekbench3 will show the benchmark and subtest scores and two CPU-Z windows showing CPU and Memory tabs.
    The Linked picture above would give a score of 38680 / 20 = 1934

Cooling method is entirely open, as is CPU type. Scores will be divided by number of threads. Eg a 7700K score will be divided by 8, Ryzen 1800x also divided by 16, and a 5820K would be divided by 12.

Competition opens Friday 28th July at 12PM Melbourne Time
Competition closes Sunday 3rd of September 9PM Melbourne Time

Submissions to HWBOT are not required to enter this competition however Australia OC’s HWBOT team is always open to new members.
Gigabyte also encourages the use of Gigabyte hardware (though this is NOT a requirement!) and if you have some hardware, show it off!

Awesome, love these comps. Thanks Matt and Gigabyte

Will score be calculated using the number of active threads? Using the 7700k example, if I turn off HT will it change to score divided by 4?

    YES
It will be divided by however many threads are shown in CPU-Z

So actually a Ryzen R7 1800X will have the score divided by 16, yeah?

Why is the AMD limit 3.8GHz vs 4.5GHz for intel? Is this an admission that Summit Ridge has better IPC than Intel CPUs?

Just for clarification, can we use Engineering Samples or Non-Released hardware?

    Ie Ln2 boards.

Simply that most AMD chips should hit 3.8 on air or aio coolers, and the same with a majority of Intel CPUs. The CPU clock limit forces people to work on efficiency of operating system and memory which makes it more interesting.
I don't see why we should have any hardware limitations for this competition with what's available currently. Ln2/ES boards will be allowed.

I'm sure it's probably a stupid question, but I have no idea what this means or how to say it? Rauf beats Team Au? Nobody beats Team Au.. so please clarify this for an old bugger who knows nothing about rap? Who the fuck is Rauf anyway?

Also, when I do my old man rap video, do I get extra points if I leave my teeth out?

it would be an active downclock for most intel CPUs. 4.5 is a slight OC or stock for the most common intel chips.
    Rauf is a Swedish overclocker.
Recently there's been a bit of a fight for legacy benchmarks from TeamAu and Rauf as detailed here

Rauf thinks we downclock for screenshots all the time because our efficiency > all. He's a good OCer needs his head/history checked. We've been called out about efficiency by many others, including hipro5 himself, who've later reconsidered their opinions. This one's green so it's still funny. James also hates the implication Rauf is better so it's extra funny :D
