Google Inc unveiled a larger version of its Nexus-branded tablet computer on Monday, and updated its mobile gadget and online content offerings as competition with Apple Inc, Amazon.com Inc and Microsoft Corp heats up ahead of the holiday sales season.

The device follows a spate of new product launches by the technology leaders in recent weeks, including Apple's iPad Mini last week and software-maker Microsoft's first-ever home-built tablet, the Surface.

Crappy crapy build quality on my Asus TF300 has me in the market for a new 10 inch tablet. Cracked screen through no fault of my own..

Also in the market for a new Nexus so it might spell double trouble for me on Monday! :)

We have yet to see a picture of it, let alone a price unfortunately.

Possibly, on one hand, Google and Samsung have the capacity to price this damn aggressively.

On the other hand, with Surface being $499 and an ipad3.1 being more than that. They don't really have to. There's not really anything comparable in the market, around $400, unlike say the N7 and Kindle fire at the time. So will they? Wont they?

Few more sleeps and we'll know.

I doubt it will be so, but micro SD support would be nice.

Why M$ still didn't launch with the flagship model is beyond me.

Yeah, just noticed that. Just skimmed it.

If true, this will have the same resolution as my 30" Dell.

Will make for good for camera's if the display is decent enough.

Yeah here's hoping they calibrate the IPS panels a bit better than on the N7, I love the viewing angle on mine but I certainly wouldn't want to use it to demo a portfolio.

It's a shame that it's only a dual-core, but if it's priced well and performs adequately Google may have a winner for the 10inch market.

Nexus 10 specs, features, images and screenshots appear, tablet running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, not Key Lime Pie

A BriefMobile source to play with the Google Nexus 10, and the publication posted several pre-release details for the tablet, including specs and features but also hands-on images.

Before we invite you to check out the image gallery below, let’s take a look at the Google Nexus 10’s specs sheet:
    •10.1-inch Super AMOLED display with 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution and 298.9 pixels-per-inch
    •1.7GHz dual-core Samsung Exynos 5250 (Cortex-A15) CPU
    •Mali-T604 GPU
    •2GB RAM
•16GB internal storage (other options possible)
    •No microSD support
•5-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash
    •Front-facing camera
    •NFC
    •WiFi
    •Bluetooth 4.0
•Dual speakers located on front of device
    •Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

The Google Nexus 10 has a back that “ feels like brushed aluminum, says [their] source. There are rubber coated edges and it’s extremely light and thin.”

I think they've steered clear of the Tegra 3 Quad because of the memory bandwidth not allowing for smooth user experience when the res hits 1080p and higher. I remember reading something about that with the Surface Tablets.

It will really depend how fast the chip and the accompanying GPU is. I'm pretty keen on one though. The N7 was just a little too small for what I wanted.
