Intel phases out first 45 nm processors, iIncluding Q9450

    Damn, only got a Q9450 a few weeks ago.... looks like Nehalem release has killed off some old favourites here.

    Good to see that they will still be orderable until after Christmas, they should be around for a bit. Anyone know of any known/rumoured price cuts on these CPUs?

    about time intel got rid of some junk instread of just releasing a new cpu whenever a core failed its binning :p

    best c2* ever made, q6600 :)

    of course the 8600 wont be going anywhere... until its replaced next year by mainstream i7 because its going to be the fastest dual core cpu for a long time now...

    Not very helpful when Q6600 is now back up to $300 as the average price from wholesalers...

    the Q6600 still lives.... go figure.

    I have 2 of these, and they are plenty fine for anything i do. Good to see they're still kicking.
